Visit Perpignan all year round
Perpignan is a former capital of the Kingdom of Majorca and showcases some remarkable landmarks like the Palace of the Kings of Majorca and the iconic Castillet. It's Mediterranean climate makes it perfect for year-round exploration and its culture is influenced by a blend of French and Catalan themes.
Perpignan Castillet
Construction on the Castillet (meaning small castle in Catalan) started in 1368. The ancient fortification was made up of three parts and incorporated the gate to the old city of Perpignan. Today the Castillet stands as a proud monument and has became a museum that celebrates the popular arts and traditions of the region.

Palace of the Kings of Majorca
The palace of the Kings of Majorca is a gothic style palace and fortress with ornate gardens overlooking the city of Perpignan. The palace was built by King James the second in 1276 and completed in 1309 in a period of history when Perpignan was the designated capital of the Kingdom of Majorca. The palace gardens play host every August to a free music festival celebrating all aspects of guitar music.
